John Pozadzides founded the Web Design Group on May 25, 1996, issuing the invitations that brought together the team of Web authoring experts behind this site. The WDG's charter, promoting non-browser-specific, non-resolution-specific sites accessible to all users worldwide, remains on the About page where it has stood since the beginning.
In the years since, John has worked across technology and media. He served as a television host with an international audience, built and wrote One Man's Blog, and founded Woopra, the real-time web analytics company, which he later sold. His article Improving Search Engine Rankings has been featured on this site's home page for many years.
John is the founder and CEO of Texas Metal Works, the largest specialty welding table manufacturer in the United States. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified and its tables are used by NASA and all branches of the U.S. military.
He is the author of Welding Tables: The Definitive Guide, the first complete guide to choosing, using, and owning a fabrication table. The book draws on decades of manufacturing and fabrication experience to give welders and fabricators an evidence-based reference for a category long dominated by marketing claims.
Thirty years separate an HTML reference site and a book about welding tables, but the work is the same: take a technical subject, test what is actually true, and explain it plainly enough that anyone can use it.
