Peru's Ballestas Islands are home to many endemic seabirds including the Peruvian Booby, Guanay Cormorant, Inca Tern, Peruvian Pelican, and Humboldt Penguin. The islands are uninhabited by humans, who only go ashore for the occasional collection of guano for fertilizer.
I took these photos while on a boat tour of the Ballestas Islands on May 16, 2007.
